“CLIP - Enhancing Printed Electronics Applications by SMEs: Conductive Low-Cost Ink Project “

The overall objective of this project is to concentrate outsourced R&D activities in development of lower-cost nano-inks, which at the same time enable smaller track width in circuits and optimum printing capability. Demonstration of the formulated inks takes place on industrial printing equipment (flexo, gravure, inkjet, screen) suitable for Printed Electronics.

Sirris Smart Coating Application Lab has successfully developed inkjet inks based on mixtures of quantum clusters (bimodal and trimodal inks) produced by wet-chemical route. Printing trials have been performed using a Dimatix material printer DMP-2831. Ink modification, substrate surface treatment and printing optimization have resulted in conductive tracks with excellent conductivity, even at low curing temperatures (< 150°C).
